The Stoa Poikile, or Painted Stoa, was a colonnaded public porch on the north side of the Ancient Agora in Athens, decorated with painted panels and renowned in antiquity. It became famous as the site where Zeno of Citium taught, giving the Stoic school its name.

How to Get to Stoa Poikile
The Stoa Poikile (Painted Stoa) is located in the Ancient Agora area of central Athens. Take the Athens Metro to Monastiraki (Lines 1 and 3) or Thissio (Line 1) and walk about 5-10 minutes to the Agora (follow signs for the Ancient Agora / Stoa of Attalos). You can also reach the site on foot from Plaka via Adrianou Street or by surface buses that stop at Monastiraki.

- The Painted Stoa stands within the Ancient Agora site, so enter via the Agora's main entrances on Adrianou/Thission and include it on the same circuit as the Stoa of Attalos and the Agora Museum.
