Stadio Diego Armando Maradona

Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is a major football stadium in the Fuorigrotta district of Naples, home to S.S.C. Napoli. Opened in 1959 (formerly Stadio San Paolo), it was renamed in 2020 to honour Diego Maradona.

The venue holds roughly 54,700 spectators and includes covered main stands, two curved end stands (the ‘curva’ sections) and the playing pitch. It hosted matches during the 1990 FIFA World Cup and remains the principal venue for Napoli home fixtures and large events.

The stadium has undergone multiple renovations, most notably ahead of the 1990 World Cup and other modernisation efforts, while retaining its central role in Neapolitan sporting life.

It sits in western Naples in the Fuorigrotta neighbourhood, served by local public transport and close to the city’s major arterial roads.

• Tribuna (main stand): The main covered stand that houses VIP areas, press facilities and many of the stadium's seated spectators.
• Curva A: One of the two curved stands behind the goals, traditionally the most vocal areas for the home supporters.
• Curva B: The opposite curve behind the other goal, also a primary location for dedicated home supporters and standing terraces in parts of its history.
• Pitch and playing area: The grass playing surface and surrounding technical area where professional matches and major events take place.
