Palazzo Cellammare, Naples Palace

Palazzo Pisani Gritti is a historic Gothic palazzo on Venice’s Grand Canal that later became the luxury Hotel Gritti Palace. The building preserves a canal-facing Gothic façade and internal reception rooms that reflect its origins as a noble family residence.

• Prime canal location: Located directly on the Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro district, immediately beside the Accademia Bridge and close to Santa Maria della Salute.

• Grand Canal façade: The Grand Canal-facing façade with balconies and windows oriented toward the canal; this elevation is the primary architectural face of the palazzo and the main source of its views.
• Historic salons: Historic reception rooms and salons that retain decorative details, fresco fragments and period furnishings now arranged for guests and events.
• Canal terrace and suites: A private terrace and terrace-facing suites that provide direct views across the Grand Canal toward Santa Maria della Salute and the Accademia area.

From Naples city centre the palazzo is reachable by metro and foot: take Metro Line 2 to Mergellina station, then a 10-15 minute walk along Via Francesco Caracciolo and Via Posillipo toward the waterfront. By car, follow Via Partenope and turn up into the Mergellina quarter; street parking can be scarce during evenings and festivals.

• Visit late afternoon to catch the low sun on the façade and avoid the mid-day crowds of nearby historic Naples streets.
• Look for the engraved coat-of-arms above the portal - local guides will point out the 17th-century additions.
• Combine a visit with the nearby Castel dell'Ovo and the seafront promenade via a 20-25 minute walk.
