Stade de la Mosson Stadium

Stade de la Mosson is a football stadium on the western edge of Montpellier in southern France, used primarily by Montpellier HSC. The venue was significantly renovated ahead of UEFA Euro 2016 and functions as the city’s main football arena.

The stadium offers covered seating around the pitch and corporate facilities; it has hosted domestic Ligue 1 fixtures and international tournament matches. The playing surface conforms to professional dimensions and the stadium meets UEFA match standards.

Originally opened in the early 1970s, the ground has been altered and upgraded several times to increase comfort, safety and capacity for major events. The most recent major works prepared the venue for Euro 2016.

Stade de la Mosson sits in the Mosson district to the west of Montpellier city centre, a few kilometres from the historic core. It is positioned near urban residential areas and local transport links serving the city.

Stade de la Mosson is in the Mosson district west of Montpellier. Take Montpellier’s tram line 1 to the Mosson terminus (or the nearest Mosson tram stop) and it’s a roughly 5-10 minute walk to the stadium. By car the stadium is about 5-6 km west of Montpellier city centre via the local ring roads and departmental routes; on-site/event parking is available.
