The Cathedral of Chiclayo is the principal Roman Catholic cathedral in Chiclayo, Peru, and serves as the main church for the city. It occupies a central location facing the city’s principal plaza.

A major municipal and religious landmark used for daily services, civic ceremonies and major religious observances. The cathedral forms part of the historic urban ensemble around the Plaza de Armas.

Built to replace earlier church buildings on the central plaza, the cathedral has been the focal point of diocesan and city religious life since its establishment as the city’s principal church. It has been modified and maintained over time to serve a growing urban congregation.

Situated on Chiclayo’s Plaza de Armas in the city centre, the cathedral is easily reached from downtown streets and is surrounded by municipal buildings and commercial fronts.
