How to Get to Máncora
Máncora is best reached by air into Talara (closest) or by road from Tumbes or Piura, then by bus/taxi/colectivo to the coastal town. Buses and shared vans are the standard low‑cost way to arrive; taxis are faster for door‑to‑door transfers.
Capitán FAP Pedro Canga Rodríguez (Talara, TYL): Talara is the closest airport for Máncora with some domestic flights; from Talara airport a taxi or colectivo takes about 45-60 minutes to Máncora. Expect taxi fares roughly S/60-S/120 depending on vehicle and negotiation; colectivos (shared minibuses) are cheaper.
Tumbes (TBP) and Piura (PIU): Tumbes is a larger regional arrival point (~2-3 hours to Máncora by road) and Piura is further inland (approx 3.5-5 hours by road). Regular interprovincial buses connect both cities with Máncora: fares from Tumbes typically S/10-S/25, from Piura S/20-S/40 depending on operator and service level.
Train: There is no passenger rail service directly to Máncora; rail is not used for this coastal route.
Bus: Long‑distance bus companies and local colectivos run from major northern Peruvian cities (Piura, Tumbes, Talara) to Máncora.
