St. Hripsime is an Armenian Apostolic church in Vagharshapat (Ejmiatsin) dating to the early 7th century and is considered one of the finest surviving examples of early Armenian church architecture. The building is noted for its austere cruciform plan and well-preserved stonework.
Visitors come to study its classical Armenian architectural features, including the central cupola and compact, fortress-like form. The church remains an active place of worship and a destination for both pilgrims and architectural historians.

- Visit at dawn for cooler air and to watch light wash the compact, perfectly proportioned exterior - the church reads very differently in morning shadow.
- Note the unusual octagonal drum and the sanctuary's narrow windows; these are hallmarks of early Armenian basilica architecture.
