Sree Kanteerava Stadium

Sree Kanteerava Stadium is a multi-purpose sports complex in Bengaluru, Karnataka, that opened in the late 1960s and functions as one of the city’s main athletic and football venues.

The outdoor arena seats roughly 25,000 spectators and is equipped with an athletics track and floodlights, so it hosts football matches, track and field competitions, and large public events. The complex also includes an indoor arena for court sports and a public swimming pool used for training and regional competitions.

The stadium was constructed in the 1960s and named in honor of the Wadiyar royal family; since opening it has been upgraded and used for state and national sports events as well as major club fixtures. Over time the complex grew to include the indoor arena and aquatic facilities to serve Bengaluru’s sporting needs.

Located in central Bengaluru near the city’s administrative and commercial districts, the stadium sits within walking distance of central parks and major roads that connect to the rest of the city.
