Sonfjället National Park

Sonfjället National Park is a protected mountain area in Jämtland County in central Sweden, set around the Sonfjället massif and noted for its mountain moorland and subalpine environment. The park is one of the earlier national parks in Sweden and is valued for its natural habitats and wildlife.

Trails and marked routes lead across modest peaks and plateaus; the area is frequented by hikers seeking mountain scenery and opportunities to see large mammals such as moose and brown bear from a distance. The landscape combines rocky outcrops, sparse birch woodlands and open highland terrain.
