Snarøya is a peninsula and residential area on the Oslofjord within Bærum municipality, in the greater Oslo region of Norway. It occupies a coastal position with shoreline properties, small harbors and local recreational facilities.
The area is suburban in character, with housing, local services and waterfront access that serve residents of the western Oslo suburbs. Maritime and shoreline activities such as boating and small-scale marinas are characteristic uses of the immediate coast.
Historically the locality developed as part of the expansion of Oslo’s suburban belt and coastal settlements along the fjord; today it functions as part of the Bærum/Oslo commuter region.
Snarøya lies on the western side of the Oslofjord within Bærum municipality, immediately west of central Oslo and integrated into the greater Oslo urban area.
