Smolny Cathedral

Smolny Cathedral is an 18th-century Baroque cathedral in St Petersburg, Russia, designed by Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli for the Smolny Convent. It is a prominent blue-and-white landmark within the city and a noted example of Russian Baroque architecture.

The cathedral’s exterior is a richly articulated Baroque composition with domes and decorative façades; the interior and nave are used for concerts and cultural events and the building is frequently included on city architectural tours.
