Slovenj Gradec is best reached by bus from Ljubljana or Maribor - there is no direct rail service into the town. Buses are regular and drop you in the town centre, making onward walking straightforward.

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU): Slovenia’s main international airport is Ljubljana (LJU). From the airport take the shuttle or taxi into Ljubljana city centre (20-40 minutes) and then a regional bus towards Slovenj Gradec from Ljubljana Bus Station; overall travel time Ljubljana→Slovenj Gradec by bus is about 1.5-2 hours.
