Skradinski buk
Waterfall Series of terraced waterfalls in Krka National Park
A wide travertine cascade in Krka National Park threaded by wooden boardwalks. Visitors walk the paths, photograph multilevel falls and-where permitted-swim in designated pools during summer months.
Skradinski buk is the principal travertine cascade section of Krka National Park in Croatia and represents one of the park’s signature natural formations. The feature consists of a series of terraced pools and waterfalls formed by travertine deposition on the Krka River.
The cascade area is served by wooden boardwalks and footpaths that provide close-up views of the pools, falls and karst vegetation. The combination of flowing water, travertine barriers and accessible walkways makes it one of the most visited spots in the national park.
The falls and pools have been shaped over time by mineral deposition and river dynamics and are managed as part of Krka National Park’s conservation and visitor infrastructure.
Skradinski buk is located on the Krka River near the town of Skradin in Croatia’s Dalmatian region, within easy reach of the park’s visitor centre and access points.
- Visit tip: Arrive early in the day to avoid crowds on the wooden walkways and for better photographic light on the cascades.
