Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo is a large wildlife park in the Mandai area north of central Singapore, known for pioneering open, naturalistic enclosures and immersive exhibits. The zoo places an emphasis on conservation, education and close but safe viewing of animals in habitat-like settings.

Exhibits of note include the walk-through Fragile Forest, the family-friendly Rainforest KidzWorld, and geographically themed areas such as the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia. The park offers scheduled feeding sessions, animal presentations and behind-the-scenes tours that supplement regular exhibits.

The zoo opened in 1973 and today forms part of a larger Mandai wildlife precinct that includes adjacent attractions such as the Night Safari and River Wonders. It occupies a sizeable site in Mandai, roughly 25-30 km north of downtown Singapore.
