Sidna Ali Mosque is a medieval coastal mosque and shrine complex located near the modern Herzliya area on Israel’s central Mediterranean coast. The site includes a sanctuary traditionally associated with a local saint known as Sidna Ali and a surrounding burial ground.
Architecturally the complex survives in partial ruin with visible masonry and tomb enclosures; it functioned historically as a local pilgrimage and prayer site as well as a community mosque. The position on a small coastal rise makes the complex readily visible from the nearby shore and adjacent coastal roads.
The mosque stands in the coastal plain of central Israel, north of Tel Aviv within the Tel Aviv District, close to contemporary Herzliya and its beaches.
- Coastal setting: Located on a low coastal hill just north of the modern Herzliya shoreline and accompanied by a cemetery and small shrine complex.
