Shuklaphanta National Park is a protected lowland park in far-western Nepal in Sudurpashchim Pradesh, known for extensive grasslands and floodplain habitats. The area supports a variety of large mammal species and seasonal wetlands important for birds.
The park’s characteristic feature is wide open grassland plains interspersed with river channels and forest patches; it is particularly noted for its populations of swamp deer (Barasingha) and for supporting seasonal movements of elephants and other ungulates.
