How to Get to Shaowu
Shaowu (Fujian) can be reached reliably by rail - Shaowu Station connects to Nanping and the regional network - or via flights into Fuzhou/Xiamen followed by train or road transfers. Regional buses complete short final legs where rail does not reach.
Wuyi/Shaxian / regional airports (nearest hubs vary): Shaowu (Fujian) is best reached via larger Fujian airports such as Fuzhou Changle (FOC) or Xiamen Gaoqi (XMN) depending on your origin; from either airport you’ll need to continue by rail or road. From Fuzhou or Xiamen the onward trip to Shaowu can take several hours by high-speed or conventional train to a nearby hub (Nanping) and then a local bus or taxi for the last leg; total transfer times are typically 3-5 hours depending on connections and route.
Wuyishan/Quanzhou regional airfields: In some itineraries travelers use regional airfields nearer to northern Fujian and then transfer by road; check the specific flight network for your travel dates to choose the best hub for onward ground connections to Shaowu.
Train: Shaowu is served by rail - Shaowu has a railway station (Shaowu station/邵武站) on regional lines connecting to Nanping and other Fujian cities. High-speed and conventional trains can bring you to nearby hubs; from Nanping or direct trains, transfer to a local bus or taxi to reach central Shaowu. Train travel is often the most reliable and comfortable way to approach Shaowu from major Fujian cities.
Bus: Intercity buses run between Shaowu and neighbouring cities such as Nanping, Sanming and Wuyishan. Buses are frequent for regional trips and are a straightforward way to reach smaller towns not directly on the high-speed rail network.
