Seoul Plaza is a large public square directly in front of Seoul City Hall in central Seoul’s Jung‑gu district. It functions as an open civic space used for public events, festivals, and demonstrations.
The plaza features an open lawn area, paved sections for gatherings, and a water feature; temporary installations and markets are common. It provides clear sightlines to the City Hall building and is adjacent to cultural and governmental buildings in the city center.
The space was created and later adapted as part of urban redevelopment to provide a central public square for civic activity. Since its establishment it has been used regularly for concerts, seasonal displays and civic events.
Seoul Plaza sits in downtown Seoul, immediately outside Seoul City Hall and a short walk from City Hall Station on Seoul’s metro network.
