Sendai Daikannon is a large statue and temple complex in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon. The monument is notable for its very large seated figure which visitors can enter to view internal displays and observation levels.

The site functions as a Buddhist place of worship and a visitor attraction, with religious displays and viewpoints accessed inside the statue. The complex includes temple facilities and is used for devotional activity as well as sightseeing.

The statue and temple were erected in the late 20th century as a modern devotional and memorial site, with ongoing use for religious observance and tourism. Since construction the site has operated as both a local religious centre and an attraction for visitors to the city.

Sendai Daikannon sits in the suburban area of Sendai city in Miyagi Prefecture on Japan’s Tohoku coast, reachable by road from the Sendai city centre.
