Scott Circle is a traffic circle and urban junction in northwest Washington, D.C., United States, formed by the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue, Rhode Island Avenue and 16th Street NW. It functions as both a vehicular roundabout and a small landscaped public space.

The circle features a prominent equestrian statue of General Winfield Scott at its center and is set amid a district of early 20th-century embassies, office buildings and institutional properties. The area is often used as a reference point for diplomatic and institutional addresses.

The space developed as part of the city’s planned avenue system and has long served as a transport node and small urban park within the city’s ceremonial north-south axis.

Scott Circle is located in central Washington, D.C., a short distance north of Dupont Circle and adjacent to the city’s embassy row and major north-south avenues.

In northwest Washington, D.C., at the junction of Massachusetts Avenue and 16th Street. Accessible by Metrobus routes that run along Massachusetts Ave; the nearest Metro station is Dupont Circle (Red Line), about a 10-15 minute walk south.

• Use the pedestrian subway at the traffic lights rather than jaywalking: the traffic flow is rapid and unforgiving.
