Saronde Island

Saronde Island is a small coral island in Tomini Bay off the coast of Gorontalo province in north Sulawesi, Indonesia, known for white sand beaches and clear water. It is a popular day-trip destination for swimming, snorkeling and short coastal hikes.

Beaches and shallow reef areas around the island provide snorkeling opportunities and casual reef viewing from the shore; simple visitor facilities such as huts and viewpoints are available for day visitors. The island is often visited on organized boat trips from the Gorontalo mainland.

The island has been used principally for local tourism and fishing and is part of a network of small islands in Tomini Bay visited by regional operators. Development is limited compared with larger resort islands, and visits are typically short, daytime outings.

Saronde sits a short boat ride off the Gorontalo coast in northern Sulawesi, and is accessed from local harbours on the mainland; the island is set within a shallow coral-reef environment typical of the region.
