Santa Maria degli Scalzi, commonly known as the Scalzi, is a Baroque church in Venice’s Cannaregio district close to the Venezia Santa Lucia railway station and the Grand Canal. The church was built for the Discalced Carmelite order and is notable for its Baroque façade and richly decorated interior chapels.

The interior contains multiple altarpieces and ceiling decorations dating principally to the 17th and 18th centuries, and the church functions as both an active parish and a heritage site. Its location makes it a convenient stop for visitors entering Venice by rail.

Constructed in the early 17th century for the Carmelite order, the building has undergone restorations and conservation work over time while remaining in ecclesiastical use.

The church stands on the northern edge of Venice’s historic island group adjacent to the main railway terminus and is easily reached on foot from the station or by vaporetto.
