San Miguel Mission

San Miguel Mission, commonly called San Miguel Chapel, is a historic mission church in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with origins in the early colonial period of the region. The building is notable for its long history of continuous religious use and its adobe construction.

The chapel’s fabric includes early adobe walls and later repairs and modifications that reflect centuries of maintenance and restoration. It functions today as both a place of worship and a historic landmark open to visitors during daylight hours.

Originally established during the Spanish colonial era, the mission served settlers and local communities and was repaired and altered multiple times across the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Its continuous use has preserved its role as a living historic site.
