The Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad is a major museum founded on the private collections of Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III and opened to the public in the early 1950s. Salar Jung Museum is located on the southern side of the Musi River in central Hyderabad (the museum address is on Afzal Gunj / Darulshifa area). It’s reachable by city buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws; the nearest major railway station is Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally), approximately 1.5-2 km away (roughly a 20-30 minute walk or a short taxi/auto ride). By car the museum is about 25-30 km from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (drive time varies with traffic).
