Sacred Heart Cathedral (Guangzhou)

The Sacred Heart Cathedral in Guangzhou is a large Gothic Revival Roman Catholic cathedral built in the late 19th century and often called the ‘Stone House’ due to its masonry construction. It is one of the city’s principal historic churches and a prominent urban landmark.

A cruciform Gothic plan with pointed arches, ribbed vaulting and a stone exterior dominate the building’s appearance; the interior contains traditional Catholic liturgical furnishings.
