The Sabil-kuttab al-Qizlar is a combined public fountain and small elementary school in Cairo, Egypt, and is part of a distinct building type known as sabil-kuttab. The ground floor housed the fountain for dispensing water while an upper room functioned as a kuttab for basic instruction.

Architecturally the building has a street-facing fountain niche at ground level and a small upper floor or balcony space above used historically as a classroom. The dual-purpose layout was intended to provide both a civic service and charitable educational provision within a compact footprint.

The structure’s title links it to the patronage that established it, consistent with the waqf practice used to fund sabil-kuttabs. Over time these combined buildings have often been preserved because of their distinctive civic and educational roles.

Located in Cairo Governorate, the sabil-kuttab sits in the city’s historic core and is accessible from central Cairo streets.
