The Royal Palace of Nuku’alofa is the official royal residence located in the capital, Nuku’alofa, on the island of Tongatapu in Tonga. The distinctive white-painted wooden palace was constructed in 1867 for King George Tupou I and serves as the ceremonial seat of the Tongan monarchy.

The palace compound includes formal grounds used for official events and ceremonies; the building itself is not normally open to the public, though the exterior and perimeter are accessible and often visited by tourists. The palace has been maintained as a symbol of the modern Tongan state since the 19th century.

The palace stands on waterfront land in central Nuku’alofa, within walking distance of the capital’s commercial centre and harbour.
