Riverside Museum

Riverside Museum is Glasgow’s museum of transport and travel, housed in a striking, ship-shaped building designed by architect Zaha Hadid and opened in 2011 on the north bank of the River Clyde. The museum presents vehicles, models and interpretive exhibits tracing the city’s transport history.

Galleries display historic trams, buses, locomotives, bicycles and street models with interpretive material about urban transport, industry and social history. The museum sits beside the restored 1894 barque Glenlee, which is moored nearby and open to visitors.

The location and architecture combine to make the site a major cultural destination on Glasgow’s redeveloped riverfront.
