Ramsgate on the Kent coast is best reached by train from London (high-speed services via Ashford are quickest) or by car. The town is well served by local buses for short hops; the seafront and town centre are walkable.
London Gatwick (LGW) / London Heathrow (LHR) / London Stansted (STN): Ramsgate is served indirectly from London area airports-travel to central London then take a train/coach to Ramsgate. From London St Pancras you can reach Ramsgate via High Speed services (change at Ebbsfleet or Ashford) in about 1h 30m-1h 50m.
Manston (closed for commercial flights): Manston Airport has had a complex operational history and should not be relied upon for scheduled commercial services.
Train: Ramsgate railway station is on the Southeastern network with direct services from London St Pancras (high-speed via Ashford) and London Victoria/Charing Cross (via Faversham). Typical journey time from London St Pancras (via HS1/Ashford) is around 1h 30m; from London Victoria it’s closer to 2 hours.
Bus / coach: Stagecoach and local Thanet bus services connect Ramsgate with nearby towns (Broadstairs, Margate) and with Canterbury and Thanet-wide destinations. National Express coaches can connect from London with longer journey times.

- Car / rental (£30-70 per day) - Driving gives flexibility to explore the Kent coast and nearby countryside; parking is available but can be limited during summer weekends.
- Cycling (£8-20 per day (hire)) - Cycling along the coast between Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate is popular-there are dedicated lanes and quiet roads in parts of the peninsula.
