Ram Janmabhoomi is the site in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, traditionally identified by many Hindus as the birthplace of Lord Rama. It is a religiously significant plot in the town of Ayodhya and has long been a place of pilgrimage and public devotion.

The site was also at the center of a major modern legal and political dispute involving a 16th-century mosque that stood on the location and its demolition in 1992. After prolonged litigation the Supreme Court of India issued a judgment in November 2019 resolving the ownership of the disputed land and directing its transfer for the construction of a Hindu temple, while ordering the allocation of alternate land for a mosque.

Historically the place has been associated with devotional commemoration and processions; in recent years it has been the focus of major construction and redevelopment connected to the temple project and related pilgrimage infrastructure.

The site lies within the city of Ayodhya on the banks of the Sarayu River in eastern Uttar Pradesh and is accessible from the town center.
