Rachid Karami International Fair-Tripoli

The Rachid Karami International Fair in Tripoli is a mid-20th-century modernist fair complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer and noted for its expressive concrete pavilions and canopy structures. It was conceived as a national exhibition complex and remains a landmark of modern architecture in Lebanon.

Commissioned in the early 1960s by Lebanese authorities, the complex was designed and partially built during that decade but was never brought to full completion; it later suffered neglect and damage during the Lebanese civil war. Despite its unfinished state the complex is recognised for its architectural significance and is the subject of conservation interest.

The fairground is located on the seafront in Tripoli in northern Lebanon, adjacent to the port area and accessible from the city’s northern neighbourhoods.
