How to Get to Qift#
Qift is a Nile-valley town best reached via Luxor (airport) or by the main Cairo-Aswan rail line. Local minibuses and short train services connect Qift with Luxor and Qena for onward travel.
Luxor International Airport (LXR): The closest major airport to Qift (Qift/Qifṭ). Road transfer from Luxor to Qift is approximately 45-75 minutes (around 50-70 km) depending on route and traffic; taxis and private transfers are commonly used - typical private-transfer fares are modest (EGP amounts depend on provider).
Qena (local access): Qena is the nearby governorate centre with road links; some visitors arrive via domestic connections to Luxor and then continue by road or train.
Train: Qift sits on the Nile valley rail corridor (Cairo-Aswan line) with a local station (Qift station). Trains from Luxor and Qena stop at Qift; journey times are short (minutes to under an hour from nearby cities) and fares are inexpensive (EGP-scale).
