Qasr Ibrim is a fortified archaeological site on a sandstone promontory in Lower Nubia, Aswan Governorate, southern Egypt. It is notable for a long sequence of occupation spanning ancient Egyptian, Nubian, Christian and later periods.
Ruined fortifications, remains of dwellings, cemeteries and layered archaeological deposits illustrate continuous occupation over millennia. The site’s dramatic setting on a rocky prominence above the Nile floodplain is a key part of the visitor experience.
