Pyhä-Häkki National Park is a protected area in Central Finland established to conserve primeval and old-growth forest stands, particularly native Scots pine and mixed woodland. It is noted as one of the better-preserved examples of natural forest in southern and central Finland.
Marked trails and short circuits allow visitors to pass through ancient pines and mixed stands; the park is used primarily for day hiking, nature observation and study of mature forest ecology. Facilities are minimal to maintain the area’s natural character.
The core protection was set to preserve original forest structure and biodiversity; the area has been managed to limit development and retain deadwood and old trees for ecological continuity.
