How to Get to Pukë#
Pukë in northern Albania is reached by road from Tirana Airport (TIA) using intercity buses, shared minibuses or private transfers. There is no direct rail access; mountain roads mean travel times vary with conditions.
Tirana Nënë Tereza International Airport (TIA): Tirana Airport is the main international gateway for Pukë. From TIA you can take a shared minibus, bus or rent a car to travel north to Pukë; the drive is mountainous and usually takes around 2-3 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Airport-to-city transfers cost roughly 300-1,000 ALL for shared minibuses or taxis to central Tirana, with longer intercity legs priced separately.
(No closer international airport): There are no major international airports closer than Tirana for Pukë.
Bus / minibus: Pukë is served mainly by intercity buses and minibuses from Tirana and other regional centres. Buses depart from Tirana’s bus terminals; journey time is typically 2-3 hours depending on route and road conditions. Fares are usually economical but vary by operator.
Train: Albania’s rail network does not provide direct service to Pukë; buses and road transport are the standard options.
How to Get Around Pukë#
