How to Get to Puerto Deseado
Puerto Deseado is a small Patagonian port town reachable by limited regional flights or more commonly by long-distance bus from larger Patagonian centres. Prepare for long overland journeys if coming from major Argentinian airports.
Puerto Deseado Airport (PUD): Puerto Deseado has a small regional airport used intermittently for local flights; service is limited and seasonal - check current schedules. Ground transfers from the airport to town are short.
Comodoro Rivadavia - General Enrique Mosconi Airport (CRD): For more regular commercial flights, fly into Comodoro Rivadavia and continue by road. Driving from Comodoro Rivadavia to Puerto Deseado takes several hours; buses and private transfers operate the route.
Train: There is no regular passenger rail service to Puerto Deseado - the province’s passenger rail network is limited.
Bus: Long-distance buses connect Puerto Deseado with other Patagonian cities such as Comodoro Rivadavia and Puerto Madryn. Buses are the usual public option for intercity travel; travel times depend on origin (several hours to most regional hubs) and fares vary by company and distance.
