Presque Isle State Park is a public recreation area on a curved sandy peninsula that shelters Presque Isle Bay on Lake Erie near the city of Erie, Pennsylvania. The park is a regional destination for beaches, trails, boating and wildlife observation.

Within the park visitors find multiple shoreline beaches, a marina, paved and unpaved trails for walking and cycling, and a historic lighthouse and lookout points. The peninsula’s varied habitats make it popular for swimming in summer and birdwatching during migration seasons.

The landform developed after the last glacial period and has been managed for public recreation and conservation over the 20th and 21st centuries. Management balances shoreline use, habitat protection and boating access.

Geographically the park sits adjacent to the city of Erie on the southern shore of Lake Erie in northwestern Pennsylvania; it forms a protective arc at the mouth of Presque Isle Bay.

Presque Isle State Park sits on a peninsula immediately west of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. The park is most easily reached by car-it’s about 5 miles (≈8 km) from Erie’s city center and is accessed via the park road Peninsula Drive; public parking is available at the main park entrances and at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center. There is no regular rail service onto the peninsula, so visitors commonly drive from Erie (a short 10-15 minute drive from downtown) or use local taxis/rideshares to reach the park.

• Arrive early (weekdays or before 9 a.m. on weekends) to secure parking and enjoy quieter beaches and trails-lots often fill by late morning in summer.
• Visit at sunrise or early morning during spring and fall for the best birding and migration activity; Presque Isle is a well-known stop for migrating species.
• Take the park's paved multi‑use trail or a bike to cover the peninsula more quickly and avoid vehicle congestion along the park road, especially on busy summer days.
