Port Barton is a small coastal village on the western coast of Palawan island in the Philippines, within the municipality of San Vicente. It serves as a local gateway to nearby islands and reef sites and has grown into a low-key beach tourism centre.
The village is a base for short island-hopping trips to nearby islands and snorkeling sites. Day trips typically visit small sandy islands and coral-fringed reefs, and activities include snorkeling, swimming, and beach relaxation. The shoreline has a line of guesthouses, eateries, and small boat operators along a single main beach.
Originally a fishing village, Port Barton expanded as tourism increased in the early 21st century while retaining a low-density, informal character. Development has focused on small-scale guesthouses and boat services rather than large resorts.
Geographically it sits on the northwestern coast of Palawan, roughly along the coastal route between Puerto Princesa to the south and El Nido to the north, and is part of the San Vicente municipality.
- Best time to visit: Drier months from November to May offer calmer seas and better visibility for snorkeling and boat trips.
- How to visit: Most island access is by small banca boats that operate from the village's beach; schedules are informal and weather dependent.
What to See #
- Inaladelan Island (German Island): Small offshore islands and coral reefs reachable by short boat trips from the village, popular for snorkeling and day trips.
How to Get to Port Barton #

Once in the village, most guesthouses arrange boat trips and transfers to nearby islands.
