Pongara National Park is a coastal protected area on Gabon’s Estuaire Province that conserves beaches, mangroves and nearshore waters immediately west of Libreville.
The park includes the Pongara Peninsula, extensive mangrove forests and sandy beaches that are important for marine life and birds; the beaches are known to host nesting sea turtles. The mix of tidal flats, mangroves and coastal forest supports rich birdlife and fish nursery areas.
