Pistoia Cathedral, the Cattedrale di San Zeno, is the principal church of Pistoia in Tuscany and is dedicated to Saint Zeno. The building presents medieval Romanesque and Gothic architectural features and anchors the city’s Piazza del Duomo.

The complex includes a notable bell tower and the adjacent octagonal Baptistery of San Giovanni in Corte, which together form the cathedral ensemble in the main square. The interior contains liturgical furnishings and artworks from the medieval and later periods.

The present cathedral has medieval origins and was modified and embellished over several centuries, reflecting Pistoia’s civic and ecclesiastical history. The baptistery and other associated structures were added or rebuilt in later medieval centuries.

The cathedral stands in central Pistoia in Tuscany, with the piazza functioning as the historic and civic heart of the city and as the usual arrival point for visitors.

Pistoia Cathedral (Duomo di Pistoia) is in the historic centre of Pistoia. Take Trenitalia regional trains from Firenze Santa Maria Novella to Pistoia station; from Pistoia station it is a short walk into the centro storico (about 10-15 minutes, roughly 800-900 m). By car follow the A11/E76 toward Pistoia and take the Pistoia exit - Florence is approximately a 35 km drive away.

• Aim for the first hour after opening on a weekday to see the cathedral with far fewer visitors and to catch morning light on the façade in Piazza del Duomo.
• Don't skip the Baptistery of San Giovanni and the adjacent Museo dell'Opera del Duomo - they occupy the same square and often feel much quieter than the main church, yet hold important sculptures and liturgical silver.
