Petronas Towers
Building Twin skyscraper towers and Kuala Lumpur landmark
Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers are twin stainless-steel skyscrapers connected by a skybridge; visitors tour the bridge, visit the observation level and shop at Suria KLCC beneath the towers.
The Petronas Towers are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, each approximately 452 metres tall with 88 floors, completed in 1998 and designed by architect César Pelli. The towers are an iconic symbol of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
A public Skybridge connects the towers at roughly 170 metres and is a primary visitor attraction with timed entry. The complex includes the Suria KLCC shopping centre at the podium level and landscaped KLCC Park, which offers viewing points and pedestrian access around the towers.
Construction was completed in 1998; the towers held the title of world’s tallest buildings until 2004 and have since remained among the world’s tallest twin structures. They were developed as a landmark commercial and cultural centre for the city.

How to Get to Petronas Towers #
Located in the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) district of central Kuala Lumpur. Take the Kelana Jaya LRT (rapid transit) to the KLCC station - the station exits into the KLCC/Suria shopping complex and is a very short walk (a few minutes) to the Petronas Towers and KLCC Park. Taxis and ride‑hailing services can also drop you at Persiaran KLCC or Jalan Ampang directly.
Tips for Visiting Petronas Towers #
- Prebook Skybridge and observation-deck tickets online and select a specific time slot-daily allocations are limited and popular slots sell out well in advance.
- Arrive via the KLCC LRT station and use the covered walkways through Suria KLCC to avoid street traffic and to reach the ticketing area efficiently.
- For skyline photos, step out into KLCC Park (the fountain area across from the towers) around sunset-many visitors miss this green space and the uninterrupted view of the towers from the north.
Best Time to Visit Petronas Towers #
For shorter lines at the observation areas, go on a weekday morning; avoid weekends and major school holiday periods if you want fewer crowds.
