How to Get to Peristerona#
Peristerona (Nicosia District) is reached by flying to Larnaca (LCA) and then taking an intercity bus or taxi to Nicosia and onward to the village. Cyprus has no trains; buses and taxis are the main public-transport options.
Larnaca International Airport (LCA): Larnaca is the closest major airport to Peristerona (Nicosia District). From Larnaca you can reach Nicosia by shared shuttle or bus (intercity bus 455 to Nicosia via A1/A2), taking about 40-55 minutes and costing roughly €3-€8; from Nicosia you then use local buses or a short taxi to Peristerona.
Paphos International Airport (PFO): Paphos is further away on the west coast; travel to Nicosia by car or intercity bus takes around 1.5-2 hours and fares are higher (typically €10-€20). PFO is less convenient for Peristerona unless combining with a wider Cyprus itinerary.
Bus: Cyprus has no national rail network; intercity buses (operated by private companies and the state-subsidised Intercity Buses) link Larnaca, Nicosia and other towns. From Nicosia, local buses and shared taxis serve surrounding villages like Peristerona; expect journey times of 20-40 minutes to nearby villages and fares of a few euros.
Taxi / Shared transfer: Taxis and pre-booked transfers are common for door-to-door trips from airports and between towns. They are faster and convenient where direct bus connections are infrequent; fares depend on distance and booking method.
How to Get Around Peristerona#
Because Cyprus has no rail network, Peristerona is best reached by flying into Larnaca and then using intercity buses or a taxi to Nicosia and onward. Renting a car gives the most freedom for exploring rural Nicosia District.
