Peguera City
Resort town in Balearic Islands, Spain
Three sandy coves and a palm‑lined promenade bring most visitors to Peguera; expect seafood restaurants, boat trips to narrow coves and family‑friendly beaches. Evenings bring tapas bars and a slow island rhythm.
Why Visit Peguera?#
Sun-and-sea travelers head to Peguera for its trio of sandy coves such as Playa de Peguera and a palm-lined promenade where beachfront cafés pour sangria and serve paella. Boat excursions to nearby coves and short drives into the Serra de Tramuntana offer a welcome mix of sea and mountain scenery. Family-friendly beaches shift into lively tapas bars in the evenings. Local markets add fresh produce and Mallorca pastries to daily life.

Best Time to Visit Peguera#
Late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) are ideal in Peguera: warm sea, fewer crowds and open restaurants. Summers are hot and lively; winters are mild but much quieter.

10-16°C (50-61°F)
Quiet, mild winters mean closed-season charm: calmer beaches and lower prices, but several tourist facilities shut and sea temperatures stay cool for swimming.
June - August
24-31°C (75-88°F)
Hot, busy summers bring lively nightlife, crowded beaches, and perfect sea temperatures - book ahead if you value sunloungers and beachfront restaurants.

How to Get to Peguera#
Peguera (Mallorca) is best reached via Palma airport and onward by car or TIB bus. For convenience and to explore multiple beaches and towns, renting a car is common; the public bus network is a reliable budget option for getting around the island.
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI): Palma airport is the island’s main international gateway. From Palma to Peguera the drive is about 25-40 minutes (approx. 30-35 km) depending on traffic; car hire and taxis are available at the airport.
Other airports: There are no other major airports on Mallorca; Palma is the practical arrival point for Peguera and other southwestern resort towns.
Train: Mallorca does not have an intercity rail network that serves Peguera directly; rail services on the island focus on Palma and some commuter links.
Bus: The island-wide TIB bus network connects Palma with Peguera and the southwest coast. Buses from Palma Estació Intermodal to Peguera take roughly 30-50 minutes depending on route and stops; fares are affordable and the bus is a popular option for airport-to-resort transfers.
How to Get Around Peguera#
Palma airport plus TIB buses or car hire is the standard way to reach Peguera. For island exploration, a rental car is convenient, but public buses are affordable and frequent during the tourist season.
- Airport taxi (€35-€55 (approx.)) - Taxis from Palma airport deliver door-to-door to Peguera and are faster than the bus, particularly with luggage or late arrivals. Expect higher fares than public transport; confirm the price or use a metered taxi.
- TIB bus (public) (€3-€6) - Mallorca’s TIB buses connect Palma with Peguera and other coastal towns. Buses are frequent in high season and are the most cost-effective way to reach the resort from Palma. Check timetables at the Palma bus station or the TIB website for up-to-date schedules.
- Car hire (€25-€70/day) - Renting a car is the most flexible way to explore Mallorca’s beaches, coves and inland towns around Peguera. Roads are good but expect higher traffic in summer; parking in Peguera can be limited in peak season.
- Local buses / shuttle (€1.5-€4) - Local shuttle buses link Peguera with neighbouring resorts and beaches; useful for short trips without hiring a car. Services are more frequent during summer months.
- Taxi (€5-€20 (local trips)) - Local taxis are convenient for short trips around the resort, for evening returns from restaurants or for trips to nearby beaches. Use official taxis and agree the approximate fare for longer journeys.
- Walking - Peguera’s centre and beaches are compact and excellent to explore on foot; promenades and nearby coves are best approached by walking where possible.
