Note: the actual summit hosts military installations and is within a restricted area and not open to the public; hikers use nearby public trails and viewpoints off the Ma-10.

- Note that the true summit of Puig Major is fenced off and inaccessible to the public because of the military radar installation; do not attempt to access the fenced summit area.
- Instead, plan scenic stops along the MA‑10 road and seek out nearby publicly accessible peaks such as Puig de Massanella for summit hikes and unobstructed panoramic views that most visitors find more rewarding.
