Parc Natural Ses Salines d'Eivissa i Formentera

Parc Natural Ses Salines d’Eivissa i Formentera is a coastal protected area covering salt flats, dune systems and adjacent marine waters on the southern tip of Ibiza and parts of northern Formentera in the Balearic Islands. The park conserves a mosaic of saline wetlands, beaches and Posidonia seagrass meadows that are ecologically important for fish and birdlife.

The landscape includes historic salt pans, shallow coastal lagoons and dune-backed beaches that attract migratory and resident bird species and support coastal vegetation adapted to saline conditions. The park also includes marine zones noted for seagrass meadows which are important nursery areas for fish and invertebrates.

Protection is established under Balearic and Spanish conservation frameworks and the area is managed to balance tourism with habitat conservation, with marked routes and restricted zones in sensitive sectors. Visitor facilities and signage identify main access points and explain local rules for beaches and nature areas.

The protected area occupies the southern coastline of Ibiza and parts of the northern shore of Formentera, encompassing both terrestrial salt works and adjacent coastal waters and is easily reached from the island settlements that lie close to the coast.
