Pantokratoros Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox monastic community located on the Mount Athos peninsula in northern Greece. It is one of the historic Athonite monasteries and follows the monastic traditions of the Holy Mountain.
A working monastery composed of monastic living quarters, a katholikon and ancillary buildings where liturgical life is maintained and manuscripts and icons are preserved. The site is part of the autonomous monastic republic of Mount Athos and is visited mainly by pilgrims and scholars with permitted access.
Founded in the medieval period, the monastery has been continuously inhabited by Orthodox monks and has preserved religious art, liturgical objects and a library of manuscripts over centuries. It has undergone repairs and restorations at various times to maintain monastic life.
Situated on the Mount Athos peninsula in northern Greece, the monastery occupies part of the eastern/northern slopes of the Athos massif within the monastic community of Mount Athos.

How to Get to Pantokratoros monastery #
Pantokratoros Monastery is on the Mount Athos peninsula and may be visited only by men who hold a valid pilgrim permit (diamonitirion). The usual approach is overland to Ouranoupoli in Chalkidiki (buses run from Thessaloniki to Ouranoupoli), then by ferry from Ouranoupoli to the Dafni port on Mount Athos; from Dafni you reach individual monasteries by footpaths or by boat taxis that serve monastery landings. Visitors must obtain the Athos permit in advance and follow the Mount Athos access rules.
