Pantai Muara Travel Guide

Muara, or Pantai Muara - the Malay name for the place, lies on the northeast tip of west Brunei and is famously the country’s only deep water port. Its allure for tourists is its many beaches and surrounding villages.

Muara Beach is the big attraction and worth a day away from Bandar Seri Begawan if you are staying there. It has lovely white sand which stretches for a good mile and has food and drinking. Serasa Beach and Meragang Beach are also nearby.

The surrounding villages of Kampong Masjid Lama, Kampong Pelumpong, and Kampong Sabun are also worth a look.

Getting There & Away

Pantai Muara doesn’t have its own airport, yet Brunei International Airport is nearby in the capital Bandar Ser Begawan. You can be in Pantai Muara in minutes by taxi or a bit longer by bus direct from the airport. Labuan in Malaysia also receives international flights and is an hour’s boat ride away.
