Kampong Ayer is the historic water village on the Brunei River adjacent to Bandar Seri Begawan. Fly into Brunei International (BWN) and finish the trip by taxi into town and a short water-taxi ride to the stilt houses; the water taxi is the quintessential local connector.

By Air

Brunei International Airport (BWN): Brunei’s national airport is the practical arrival point for Kampong Ayer/Bandar Seri Begawan. Taxis from the airport to the riverfront in Bandar Seri Begawan take roughly 15-20 minutes and typically cost around BND 10-15. Some hotels offer paid airport transfers and there is limited public bus service into town (cheaper but slower).

(No other regular commercial airports serve Bandar Seri Begawan directly): Regional crossings by land/sea from nearby Malaysian Sarawak exist but are not main routes for international visitors.

By Train & Bus

Train: Brunei has no national passenger rail service.
