How to Get to Pangai
Pangai on Lifuka (Haʻapai) is best reached by domestic flight to Lifuka Airport (HPA) or by ferry from Tongatapu. Pangai village is compact and easily reached from the airstrip by short taxi/shuttle.
Lifuka / Haʻapai Airport (HPA): HPA (on Lifuka island) is the airport serving Pangai and the Haʻapai group and is the most convenient air gateway. From the airport to Pangai village the transfer is typically a short taxi or shuttle of 5-15 minutes; expect fares around TOP 5-15.
Fuaʻamotu International Airport (TBU): International visitors normally arrive at TBU and connect to Haʻapai via domestic flights to HPA; flight time is short but schedules are limited - book ahead, especially in high season.
Train: There are no rail services in Tonga.
