How to Get to Lapaha#
Lapaha is a coastal village on Tongatapu within easy driving distance of Nukuʻalofa and Fuaʻamotu Airport (TBU). Travel is by road via taxi, minibus or private car.
Fuaʻamotu International Airport (TBU): Lapaha is on Tongatapu just a short drive from TBU and close to Nukuʻalofa; taxis from the airport typically take 20-30 minutes and cost around TOP 15-30. There are also inter‑island flights into TBU for visitors coming from other island groups.
Domestic airports (HPA/VAV): If arriving from Haʻapai or Vavaʻu you’ll normally fly into those airports and then connect to Tongatapu; Lapaha itself is reached by road from Nukuʻalofa/TBU.
Train: Tonga does not have a railway network.
